A new year a new you. The beginning of every new year brings hope and a renewed focus on being the best version of yourself possible. Everyone sets goals for the new year, and at the top of many folk's lists is getting in shape. The way folks decide to get in shape is by running.

Running is one of the best ways to get in shape. It's pretty cost-effective; all you need is a good pair of running shoes, socks, shorts, a shirt, and a water bottle, and you are off on a blissful run around your favorite running route or treadmill. A few tips are you begin your journey of running:

 View running as a journey and not a chore

  • Run slow - running slow allows you to recover quicker
  • Add distance slowly
  • Develop a running schedule, so you get in an excellent running routine

Getting into running shape is excellent for your overall health. It improves your cardiovascular system, which helps pump blood to your various organs and helps reduce heart disease and high blood pressure. There will be challenges such as finding the time and energy to go for a run. One way to combat these challenges is to make running a habit by being consistent, developing a running routine, finding the best time to run, and running at your own pace.

As you embark on your journey of getting back in shape by running, relax, don't stress about pace, be consistent, and you'll be back in running shape in no time.
